Abstract

1385583 Coated products SONY CORP 19 April 1972 [20 April 1971] 18139/72 Heading B2E A leader tape for a magnetic recording tape comprises a non-magnetic light transmission base, especially polyethylene terephthalate film, and a coating layer thereon comprising 100 parts by weight of a binder and at least 30 parts by weight of a pigment, the coating having a surface resistivity of less than 10<SP>12</SP> ohms/sq and the tape having a transmissivity of more than 20 per cent. The binder may be acrylic resin together with methoxymethylnylon, vinyl chloride vinyl acetate copolymer or polyvinylalcohol. The pigment may be one or more of zinc oxide, titanium oxide, calcium carbonate, zinc sulphide, silicon monoxide, antimony oxide, white lead, aluminium oxide, barium sulphate, lead sulphate, talc, clay, lithopone, white carbon black or tin oxide, especially tin oxide including antimony as impurity.
