Abstract
1385417 Buoys RESINEX SaS 11 Oct 1972 [29 Feb 1972] 46818/72 Heading B7A A buoy comprises a support 1 having a float 2 of resilient plastics material fixed at an upper extremity and a universal joint unit 3 connecting a lower extremity to a sinker 4. In a preferred embodiment the support 1 is a tapered tube having its extremities sealed for buoyancy and the joint 3 comprises interlinked U-shaped members 5, 5<SP>1</SP> fixed to the support and sinker respectively. In a modification the joint 3 comprises a threaded ball member 9 fixed by nuts 6<SP>1</SP> to a plate 7 attached by anchoring means 8 to the sinker 4. The ball member 9 is seated in a member 12 welded to the tube 1 and fixed to a flange 11 by bolts 13. Gaskets 15 provide a water-tight connection between the ball member 9 and the support and sinker respectively.
