Abstract

1,208,457. Anchoring of buoys. DATAWELL N.V. 27 Feb., 1969 [1 March, 1968], No. 10599/69. Heading B7A. [Also in Divisions D1 and F2] A floating buoy is secured to a fixed point below the water surface by an elongated flexible connecting member in which at least part of the connecting member comprises an elastic material with a relative elongation of at least 100% and is in the form of a tube of rubber-like material which is filled with an electrically conducting liquid, electrodes in contact with the liquid being provided near the ends of the tube. The arrangement provides an anchorage for the buoy such that in streaming, shallow water and with high waves the buoy will not be submerged.
