Abstract

A cable arrangement (e.g. for mooring vessels, as in Figs., not shown) comprises a very elastic cable 13 arranged in parallel relationship with, or (as in the Figs., not shown) arranged between two points of, a relatively rigid cable 12 having in the unloaded state a considerably greater length, or the portion between said points having a considerably greater length, (e.g. about 20%) than the very elastic cable 13. The cable 12 may be of steel and the elastic cable 13 may be of nylon or may comprise a rigid cable in which a resilient element (e.g. a spring) is included. The cable 12 and/or the cable 13 may be provided with floats 14 which may be of foam plastic, annular, and slid around the cable.
