1385210 Introducing liquid into compressed gas WABCO WESTINGHOUSE GmbH 16 May 1972 [17 May 1971] 22895/72 Heading B1R An apparatus for automatically introducing a liquid e.g. antifreeze into a compressed gas system e.g. an air-brake system comprises a supply container 3 for the liquid 4 adjacent a pipe through which the compressed gas passes, a chamber 17 containing a float 19 and connected through a valve 20 controlled by the float 19 to the container 3 for maintaining a level of liquid in the chamber 17, a nozzle 9 projecting into the pipe downstream of a cross sectional restriction therein and being fed with liquid from chamber 17 via duct 16 and a connexion via passages 23, chamber 24 and branch passage 25 (Fig. 2, not shown) from the pipe upstream of the restriction to the chamber 17 so as to establish in use a pressure differential between the surface of the liquid in the chamber 17 and the nozzle 9. The supply chamber 3 is maintained at the same pressure as the chamber 17 by communication with chamber 24 via tube 29 which contains a spring loaded valve 26, 27 kept open by the pressure of container filler cover 31 acting through rod 30.
