1385054 Rotary reversing switch LUCERNE PRODUCTS Inc 21 Jan 1972 [28 Jan 1971] 3106/72 Heading H1N In an electrical reversing switch, spaced stationary contacts 90, Fig. 17, are engaged by movable contacts 66, 66a in recesses 64 of a rotary holder assembly 40, 42, Fig. 6, arranged whereby the current through the switch may be reversed. The stationary holder 76 comprises upper and lower parts 76a, 76b interlocked together as by projections 82 engaging corresponding recesses (80), Fig. 9 (not shown). Each of the parts 76a, 76b carrying two of the fixed contacts 90 with link-up integral terminal strips 86b, Fig. 7, forming part of integral contact and terminal members 86, Fig. 11. Assembly of the parts 76a, 76b within a hollow housing part 108 retains the parts in position. The movable contacts 66, 66a are resiliently pressed by springs (68), Fig. 20 (not shown), against the surfaces of all four contact faces 90 which on assembly lie in a common plane. Connection to the terminal strips 86b is made by spring grippers 94a mounted within recesses 92a of the holder assembly 76 with their ends urged towards the strips 86b and adapted to grip connecting wires L1-L4, Fig. 17. The rotary contact holder assembly 40 is held together by a screw 60, Fig. 6, which retains a resilient detent arm 54 for positioning the switch in relation to detent 56. Activation of the switch may be by an arm 28 having a rectangularly slotted end 30 for spring-pressed holding engagement over the upper end of the rotary contact holder 40. In a modification the switch may be actuated by a pair of rectilinearly movable alternately operable plungers (114), Fig. 22 (not shown), which are coupled to opposite ends of a lever (42) mounted centrally on the switch rotor member 40.
