1384718 Loud-speaker diaphragms MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd and SEKISUI KAGAKU KOGYO KK 30 May 1972 [5 July 1971 12 July 1971] 48377/73 Divided out of 1384716 Heading H4J A loud-speaker diaphragm of foamed plastics material has at least one coating, on at least one face, applied as an aqueous emulsion of a resin. The resin may be polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene or acrylic resin. Alternatively rubber resin such as butadiene-styrene rubber or butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber may be used. The foamed plastics material may be as described in Specification 1,384,716. The foamed plastics material may be immersed in the aqueous emulsion of resin or the resin sprayed in atomized form on to or brush on the foamed plastics material. A frusto-conical diaphragm is either pressed from a sheet of the foamed plastics material previously coated with resin or the frusto-conical diaphragm is first formed and then coated with resin.
