Abstract

1384509 Clothes dryers HILLS INDUSTRIES Ltd 23 May 1973 [23 May 1972] 24702/73 Heading A4U A foldable clothes dryer comprises a standard 10, radially extending arms 32 pivoted to the standard and tension links 29 pivoted at their ends to the standard and to the respective arms, at least one of the links consisting of sections inter-connected by pivots 33 which permit the sections to be moved about the pivots in an upward direction only. The standard 10 is of square tubing and the arms and links are pivotally connected to bosses 15, 16 which are slidable along the standard but are retained in adjusted position by pawls 19, 20 releasably and selectively engaged in openings 24 in the standard. The pawls may be spring-loaded. A strap 36 depending from the boss 15 has apertures 37 for selectively being engaged with a pin 38 on the boss 16 to retain the arms in an outer position.
