Abstract

138,445. Green, F. W., and Green & Son, E. Aug. 22, 1919. Flasks; moulding - machines.-In a vertical pipe mould in which the bulb J for pressing the sand B in the flask A is guided in its upward movement by a central stem F, which may be detachably secured to the flask A by a conical collar D and cotter pin H, the bulb J is raised by a tubular stem K surrounding the stem F and having a hole L for attaching a rope or chain. A removable guide ring or plate M steadies the upper end of the stem and has holes for passing the sand into the mould. The stem F may act as a support for the core after the mould has been formed, or may be removed.
