Abstract

1384081 Sensitized silver halide emulsions XEROX CORP 17 March 1972 [18 March 1971] 12605/72 Heading G2C A photo-sensitive direct-print light-developable emulsion comprises silver halide grains, a binder and an effective quantity of silver thiocyanate to sensitize the emulsion, the thiocyanate being present on the surface of the grains. An iodide e.g. Pfl 2 , Agl, NH4I, CaI2, BaI 2 or an alkali metal iodide, and gold, in the form of a water soluble salt e.g. ammonium aurothiocyanate, aurous thiosulphates, alkali metal sulphates, chloroauric acid or an alkali metal halide complexed with auric trihalides, may also be incorporated in the emulsion.
