Abstract

1,179,136. Photographic elements for the dye developer transfer process. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Aug. 21, 1967 [Aug. 24, 1966], No.38343/67. Addition to 1,096,343. Heading G2C. A colour photographic material as described in Specification 1, 096, 343 for the dye developer transfer process comprises in a layer other than a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer a fogged silver haloiodide in which the iodide is present in such amount that when the fogged silver haloiodide is coated at a coverage of from 5 to 20 mg/sgft in a layer of the photographic material it reduces the rate of development of the exposed silver halide layer by the dye developer below that which it would be in the absence of the fogged silver haloiodide. The fogged silver haloiodide may be present in a layer comprising a water-insoluble polyvalest metal salt of a water-soluble polymer containing carboxylic acid groups or a water-soluble salt thereof, a dye developer containing layer, an interlayer or an overcoat layer.
