Abstract
1383938 Road traffic signals on vehicles WESTFALISCHE METALL INDUSTRIE KG HUECK & CO 7 Nov 1972 [26 Nov 1971] 51222/72 Heading G4Q A motor vehicle flashing light installation comprises a flasher unit BG, flasher lamps BL, BLh, BRv and BRh, a direction indicator switch FS, and a relay A, actuated when a road light switch LS is closed, for reducing the intensity of one or more of the flashing lamps, the relay being connected to one pole of the electric supply through the switch LS and to the other pole through an inoperative flasher lamp by way of a diode D 1 or D2. The arrangement is such that when an emergency switch WS is closed, all the flasher lamps operate concurrently at full strength. As shown, operation of the relay opens contacts a, b and brings resistors R1, R2 into the rear flashing lamp circuits. Resistor R3 is at the same time introduced into the brake stop light circuit. The system may also be used when the relay causes dimming by operating different filaments of two filament lamps.
