Abstract
1383789 Protective arrangements AMANA REFRIGERATION Inc 5 Dec 1972 [30 March 1972] 56109/72 Heading H2K [Also in Division H1] An arrangement for protecting a microwave heating apparatus 10 energized by a microwave energy generator 28 supplied by a rectifying circuit from a high voltage transformer 20, comprises a circuit protector having a resistor 52 in the secondary circuit controlling a thermallyactuated de-energizing device 62 in the primary circuit. As shown, the rectifying circuit is a voltage doubler circuit formed by diodes 40, 42 and capacitors 44, 46. The resistor 52 is wirewound and in thermal contact with, but electrically isolated from, the thermally actuated device 62. This device has contacts normally maintained closed against spring bias by a fusible mass (see Division H1).
