Abstract

1383664 Freight containers MARTIN FIALAKG 3 May 1972 [3 May 1971] 20526/72 Heading B8P [Also in Division E2] To strengthen the doors of a container against torsion, diagonal bars 9, 10 are provided, and are interconnected by a plate 19, and the hinge eonstructuon is such that if a load is applied at the top left hand corner (Fig. 5) along the longitudinal axis of the top door frame beam 5 a tensile load will be taken by the diagonals 10 and no load will be taken by the diagonal 9. The diagonals are connected to the plate 19 by members 21 or by pins engaging holes or by notched engaging members (Figs. 6-11). The hinge pins 50 engage hinge eyes 49 which are slotted at one side or have an oval hole therein to allow relative movement between the door and its frame in one direction but not in the opposite direction.
