Abstract

138,356. Brauning, K.. A. March 18, 1915, [Convention date]. Sights.-Relates to backsights having a V-notch at the end of a hinged leaf which is angularly adjusted for range by a longitudinal slide. According to the invention, the V-notch is formed in a separate bar pivoted on the leaf and moved laterally a varying amount, to effect the drift correction, by the engagement of the range-adjusting slide with the curved edge of the bar. In the construction shown, the notch is formed in a bar d pivoted at the front e to the leaf b. The bar d has a curved edge i, Fig. 4, adapted to be engaged by side jaws on the slide c, so that the deflexion of the member d varies with the position of the slide.
