Abstract

1383375 Fibre feeding SPINNEREIMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB 8 Feb 1972 5823/72-Heading D1N In a fibre-feeding apparatus, fibres carried by air in pipe 2 are deposited on rotating sieve drum 6 and are doffed from the drum for delivery to a processing station. Air is drawn or sucked through area 8 formed by baffle 7 to assist layer forming. Nozzle 15 directs an air jet to limit the layer thickness, the volume rate of the flow of the jet being controlled according to the pressure within the drum as measured by monometer tube 18. A number of drums may be located with their axes parallel to the pipe axis, and these drums may be formed by perforated areas in a common cylinder which extends through one pipe aperture and which is provided with a common baffle.
