Abstract
1382771 Print hammers SUWA SEIKOSHA KK and SHINSHU SEIKI KK 8 Jan 1973 [11 Jan 1972 17 Jan 1972] 983/73 Heading B6F [Also in Division H1] Print hammer actuating mechanism comprises a permanent magnet 4 in first and second magnetic circuits i and ii, the flux in the first circuit serving to hold the hammer 1 against the bias of a spring 12, the reluctance of the second circuit being greater than that of the first circuit, and a release coil 5 for increasing the flux in the second circuit to release the hammer. A gap G in the second circuit provides the increased reluctance thereof. The gap G may be adjustable. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), a magnetic saturation area (A) is provided common to both circuits. In a further modification (Fig. 3, not shown), the gap (G<SP>1</SP>) is common to both circuits.
