Abstract

1382304 Yarn cutter F LONATI E LONATI F LONATI and T LONATI [trading as COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE LONATI DI LONATI FRANCESCO & FIGLI ETTORE FAUSTO TIBERIO SnC] 29 March 1972 [8 April 1971] 14828/72 Heading D1C A yarn cutter comprises a plurality of moving blades 2 having hook like end portions 2a and a fixed blade 3, the moving blades being formed as strip-like elements movable longitudinally and each having a body 4 of yieldable plastics material adjustably urged thereagainst by means of a spring 5. The blades 2 are moved upwardly to take the yarn by means of a lever 9 and are returned by a spring 15. A screw 6 adjusts the pressure on the spring 5. A wire 17 guides the yarns to the yarn cutter and a further wire 18 on a switch acts to stop the machine if a yarn is not cut. The cutter is described with respect to a double needle cylinder machine 1b but is applicable to other types of knitting machine.
