Abstract

981,975. Making knitting needles. TEXTILE MACHINE WORKS. April 2, 1963 [April 30, 1962], No. 13023/63.Heading B3A. [Also in Division D1] A pivoted latch knitting needle having a butt 12 at one end has, at the other end, a hook 15 of substantially rectangular cross-section whose width B is substantially equal to the diameter of a needle of circular section of the required gauge and whose thickness C is greater, Fig. 7. As shown, the needle is punched out of sheet material which is thicker than that normally used for the particular gauge of needle, the hook being formed of circular section and then flattened to give it the required rectangular cross-section.
