Abstract

1382139 Trueing grinding wheels WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK ADOLF WALDRICH COBURG 28 July 1972 [28 July 1971] 35472/72 Heading B3D A template-controlled trueing device for grinding discs 14 with straight-lined profile sides comprises a slide 3 displaceable along a support (1, Fig. 1, not shown) parallel to the axis of the discs, a copying slide 4 slidable at right-angles to the axis, a shaping diamond 5 at one end of the copying slide and having trimming surfaces 5a, 5b which extend parallel to the desired profile sides, and two scanning spurs 7, 8 displaceable relatively to each other parallel to the grinding disc axis and lockable in position at the other end of the copying slide, one spur scanning the right-hand profile side of a stationary template 9, and the other spur scanning the left-hand profile side of the template. The slide 3 is displaceable along the support (1) by an hydraulic or mechanical feed drive. The diamond 5 is mounted in a holder 6 in the copying slide and has trueing sides 5a, 5b. A scanning device 10 is mounted at the other end of the copying slide and consists of the spurs 7, 8 which having scanning surfaces 7a, 8a for co-operation with surfaces 24, 25, respectively, of the template 9. A second surface 7b of the spur 7 co operates with a bottom surface 26 of the template. The spurs are secured in position by screws 10. When the diamond wears, the screws 10 can be loosened and the spurs adjusted by micrometer screws 11, 12. The screws may be adjusted by servomotors controlled by a gauge which determines the difference between the actual and nominal size of a workpiece ground by the grinding wheel.
