Abstract

137,967. Barraclough, G. H. April 4, 1919. Sparking-plugs. - The head E<1> of the central electrode is formed with a plane inner face positioned so that the gases must pass the annular spark-gap G in a direction transverse to the axis of the plug. Adjustment of the spark-gap is provided for by mounting the electrode E with its insulation in a member B of manganese bronze, which screws within the casing P and is locked in position by a nut P<3>. A spark-gap setting gauge having a forked end of the desired thickness may be provided.
