Abstract

1378627 Measuring fluid-flow; leak testing M H GROVE and J M E GROVE [trading as M & J DEVELOPMENT CO] 30 Jan 1973 [7 April 1972 24 July 1972] 4628/73 Headings G1R and G1S Pipes connected into a Tee-form by a sleeve 13, Fig.1, e.g. as in a meter prover, accommodate a slidable flexible walled plunger, Fig.4, carried by a rod 17 operated by a double acting hydraulic cylinder 19 which moves the plunger between the full and dotted line positions shown. As the plunger moves into its dotted line position its shape alters and the pressure in the space 39 increases from the pressure existing in the spaces 37, 38. These spaces are connected by conduits and pressure gauges to a pressure operated diaphragm switch 42 so that if the pressure in space 39 varies when the plunger is in the dotted line test position one or other of the lamps 51, 52 is lit to indicate the variation of pressure differential.
