1378407 Group II tertiary phosphate; calcium phosphate VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNOISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT NEFTEKHIMICHESKIKH PROTSESSOV "VNIINEFTEKHIM" 13 July 1972 32723/72 Heading C1A [Also in Division C5] A tertiary phosphate of a Group II metal is prepared by reacting an aqueous solution of a Group II metal salt (e.g. calcium chloride solution), and an aqueous solution of a phosphoric acid salt (e.g. sodium ammonium phosphate), at a temperature not greater than 25‹ C. in the presence of ammonia in an amount exceeding by 20 to 50% the molar amount of ammonia which would react with the molar amount phosphate ions present in the tertiary phosphate. The so formed phosphate may be filtered, washed, granulated and dried at a temperature from 18‹ to 22‹ C. and used as a catalyst to split 4,4-dimethyl-I,3-dionone into isoprene.
