Abstract

1377906 Packaging methods MAJ 9 April 1973 [3 May 1972] 16894/73 Heading B8C [Also in Division A5] Articles, especially of linen, are sterilized and packaged in a sterile condition by placing a package of thermoplastic material containing the article 5 whilst open at one end into a compartment of a steam autoclave 1 so that its open end is between the members 8 and 9 which may be heated by electrical resistance heaters and forced together by introducing compressed air into a deformable vessel 10 thereby to seal the package. This operation is performed after the package has been steam sterilized and is under vacuum in the autoclave.
