Abstract
1377881 Preventing leaks in hydraulic circuits HOFMANN GmbH Gebr [trading as HOFMANN KG MASCHINENFABRIK Gebr] 26 Feb 1973 [9 March 1972] 9283/73 Heading F1P In a circuit in which a pair of lifting rams 1, 1', Fig. 1, are connected in series for synchronous movement by a pair of lines 8, 8', the latter are connected to the rams by junction pieces 9, Fig. 2, each of which includes a valve comprising a free ball 16. If a leak occurs in one of the lines 8, 8' a drop in pressure results in the leaking line and this causes the balls to move to seal one of the end-faces 13, 14 of the lines. The balls are preferably resilient e.g. of plastics material.
