Abstract
1377743 Treating I C engine charge D FISHER and E FISHER 5 June 1972 [13 May 1971] 14837/71 Heading F1B [Also in Division F4] Fuel fed to a Venturi 64 in a carburetter 50 is vaporized by a heater 56, cooled to form a homogeneous fog by air bled into a Venturi 58 and the depression across the Venturis is controlled by a valve 62. The heater 56 may comprise a heat exchanger, Figs. 1 to 4 (not shown), with passages for mixture and a heating medium, e.g. engine cooling water. The heating medium may be electrically pre-heated when the engine is cold. The mixture may be electrically heated. The carburetter main jet 66 or float chamber may be electrically heated.
