1377072 Foundry mould additive FOSECO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 12 July 1972 [12 July 1971] 21155/74 Divided out of 1377071 Heading C3N A foundry moulding sand composition additive consisting of or including wood flour impregnated with a liquid petroleum oil and reducing sugar in weight ratio 1-10 parts impregnated wood flour to 1 part reducing sugar. The liquid petroleum oil is preferably a predominantly aromatic cracking residue obtained from the catalytic cracking of crude petroleum oil. An optional ingredient of the additive is silica flour. The additive may be added to a foundry sand containing 3À5% by weight of a sodium silicate solution.
