Abstract

1377041 Ambulances BINZ & CO 5 Jan 1973 [8 Jan 1972] 760/73 Heading B7B A stretcher support for use in an ambulance comprises-a guideway 11 extending longitudinally of the support and in which is movably mounted a guide rod 12 one end of which is pivotally connected to a support frame 15 for an invalid stretcher, the said end being upwardly pivotable out of the guideway for inclining the support frame 15 from the said end. In a preferred embodiment the rods 12 are guided in bent guideways 11 by means of rollers 13, 14 the upper surfaces 17 of the guideways 11 having apertures 18 for the upper ends of the rods 12 to emerge with the rollers 14 for tilting the support frame about rollers 13 into the inclined position. The support frame 15 may be locked in its retracted and extended positions. Rollers 16, 19 are provided on the base frame 10 for supporting and guiding the frame 15. The base frame 10 may alternatively comprise the floor of the vehicle.
