Abstract

1376570 Two for one twisters with hand knotter PALITEX PROJECT-CO GmbH 12 June 1973 [12 July 1972] 28028/73 Headings DID and D1F A two-for one twisting machine has a suction duct 25 extending in front of the spindles with a socket funnel 27 provided at each spindle location and is combined with a handknotter 21 which may be engaged in the socket at any spindle such that a suction duct 37 of the hand knotter is connected to the machine suction duct 25. Each socket 27 has a pair of spring loaded closure members 28 which are pushed aside by insertion of the knotter. One of the closure members may operate a transmitter 30 which is included in a circuit e.g. to stop rotation of the spindle and of the associated winding device and activate a pneumatic device which feeds a yarn end from the package 3 to the vicinity of the knotter suction duct mouth 40. The knotter suction duct has a vertical dividing wall at its upper end to provide a mouth 40 for the package yarn end and a transverse mouth 47 for manual insertion of the other yarn end. Guides 41 and 42 help direct the yarn into the mouth 47. Reference is made to Specifications 1339211, 1251236 and 1309210 which relate to spindle controls, winder controls and pneumatic threaders respectively. Reference is also made to Specification 1372982.
