Abstract
1376366 Picking motions ALFA-LAVAL BERGEDORFER EISENWERKE GmbH 10 March 1972 [27 April 1971] 11339/72 Heading D1E A picking motion for a fly or gripper shuttle comprises a closed pneumatic system connected to pneumatic picking cylinders 3, 4 without any intermediary valves, the pistons 8, 9 of the cylinders 3, 4 being "cocked" after picking by higher pressure hydraulic cylinders 22, 23 operated in synchronism with the loom. The picking cylinders 3, 4 are connected to a pressure chamber 7 by lines 5, 6, the pressure being variable for different shuttles &c. For picking the hydraulic cylinders 22, 23 are rapidly exhausted allowing the pneumatic pressure to operate the picking cylinders. The picking sticks 16 are connected to the cylinders by a strap 14 passing round a roller 12 on the piston rod 10 and being secured to a pivoted lever 50 held by a catch 52. After picking the catch 52 is released allowing a spring 20 to return the picking stick 16. "Cocking" of the cylinders restores the lever 50 to the picking position.
