1375531 Lead styphnate DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 13 Nov 1945 [13 Nov 1945] 30385/45 Heading C2C Lead styphnate is obtained in a form suitable for admixture with graphite by gradually adding a lead acetate solution to a stirred solution of a soluble styphnate having a pH of 4À0- 5À5, e.g. magnesium styphnate, at a temperature of 65-85‹ C. and converting the precipitated basic lead styphnate to normal salt by the gradual addition of nitric acid.
