1375432 Fixing furniture to walls G CENNERELLI 6 Jan 1972 [6 Jan 1971] 711/72 Heading A4U [Also in Divisions E1 and F2] A fixing socket 7 buried in a unit 12, e.g. a wall panel; of hard material such as concrete or masonry, to enable a member 14 e.g. a cupboard to be secured thereto, comprises a tubular body of plastics material having a channel 1 therethrough which opens at one end 3 on to the face 13 of the unit 12 which will engage the member 14, and at the other end 2 on to a surface of the unit 12 perpendicular to the face 13. A screw 15 through the channel 1 engages the member 14, and its head is covered over by the surface finish applied to the unit 12. The socket also includes a blind bore 5 extending perpendicular to the face 13 from the opening 3 to receive a screw (10) Fig. 4 (not shown) which locates the socket in a mould (8) while the unit 12 is cast or moulded. A bar 6 connects the separated ends of the two links of the socket.
