Abstract

1388950 Furniture joints BURGAUER MOBELFABRIK DKFM P POLACSEK KG 10 May 1972 21708/72 Heading F2M [Also in Division E2] A furniture panel 17 is connected to a second furniture panel 16 in line therewith and if needed a third furniture panel (23, Fig. 6, not shown), perpendicular thereto by a clamping cylinder 6 rotatably mounted in a bore 1 in panel 17, cylinder 6 comprising a ring and at least one end disc 8, the ring and disc each having a curved slot 9, 13 widened into a bore 7, 12 at one end, the walls of the ring and disc in the region of the slots 9, 13 being progressively thickened in a direction away from the bores 7, 12 to provide internal wedge surfaces 11, 14. Heads 20 of screws or nails 21 fixed to panels 16 (23) are inserted in the bores 7, 12, e.g. via panel hole 19 and the cylinder 6 is rotated anticlockwise, e.g. by a spanner engaging opening 15 to draw panels 16 (23) towards panel 17. Cylinder 6 is axially secured by two cross yokes 2.
