Abstract

1411307 Hinges OFFICINE MECCANICHE BASSAN & C, S R L 30 May 1973 [30 May 1972] 25855/3 Heading E2F A hinge, comprising interleaved cranked links 2, 102 pivotally connected at 3 and connected at 5 and 105 within barrels 1, 102 which are inserted within bores in the articles 8, 108 to be hinged together and which are axially aligned when the hinge is closed, is so constructed, that the barrels may be .readily removable from, but do not work loose in, the bores in the hinged articles. To this end a sleeve 12 having a bore providing a sliding fit for a respective barrel is glued within the bore in the corresponding member 8, 108 and the barrel is formed with a slit 10 into which a screw 11 is inserted to spread the resulting tongue 9 and so clamp the barrel within the sleeve. Rotation between sleeve and barrel is prevented by forming co-operating flats 15 on each. Other methods of fastening the barrel within the sleeve are described. Reference has been directed by the comptroller to Specification 944965.
