Abstract

1374639 Gas discharge display panels OKI ELECTRIC INDUSTRY CO Ltd and OKAYA ELECTRIC INDUSTRY CO Ltd 29 Sept 1972 [30 Sept 1971] 45033/72 Heading H1D A cold cathode discharge display apparatus generally similar to that disclosed in Specification 1,366,966, but providing a row and column array of display units, is modified by the addition of a set of erasing anodes 4a to 4d positioned close to the anodes 5a to 5d. As shown, anodes of a given column are conductively connected together, as are the erasing anodes of a given row, whereby an incorrect display on any given display unit may be erased by applying a voltage equal to the anode voltage to all the erasing anodes except that disposed in the row which contains the given display unit, whereafter the anode voltage is removed from that anode disposed in the column which contains the given display unit.
