Abstract

137,458. Mehta, P. M. April 29, 1919. Breech actions, sliding breech-block. - Consists in slidably-mounting a receptacle B on the stock of a rifle by the side of the breech opening to collect empty cartridge cases as they are ejected. The receptacle may be made of wire-gauze reinforced at its edges by strips of sheet metal, or of leather, cloth, or other flexible material mounted on a collapsible wire frame. It is provided with a clip E adapted to be slidably secured in a socket on the stock A, a plate D for deflecting the cases as they are ejected, and a vertically sliding door C at its rear end for the removal of the accumulated cases.
