Abstract

1374133 Steam boilers Y IMAMURA 21 July 1972 [27 July 1971 1 Sept 1971] 34139/72 Heading F4A In a heat exchanger assembly for producing steam a plurality of flat hollow vessels 1A, 1a; 1B, 1b ... 1N; In are vertically arranged in relation to each other within a hollow cylinder 2a, 2b containing a combustion chamber 2, the lowermost vessel 1A being supplied with a fluid (e.g. water) from a water jacket 3 through inlet tubes 5, 5a which also act to suspend the assembly within the hollow cylinder 2a, 2b. The flat vessels are interconnected by means of a plurality of tubes 4a, 4b ... &c. arranged in the configuration shown. The hollow vessels 1A, 1B ... &c. are of annular construction to assist in heat transfer from a combustion device 7. Steam leaves the assembly through outlet tube 6. Oil is supplied to the combustion device 7 from a fuel tank 18 through an automaticallyoperated control device 19.
