Abstract
1372147 Faller bar buffers N SCHLUMBERGER & CIE 26 April 1972 [29 April 1971 27 March 1972] 19335/72 Heading D1N In a textile drawing machine having faller bars moved along guides by lead screws a resilient damper is provided at the point of entry of the faller bars into the return guides. This resilient damper has a faller bar engaging face which is of increasing flexibility in the direction of return motion of the faller bars. As shown the damper comprises a U shaped leaf spring member 22 with resilient tongues 22a, b, c &c, of different length as in Fig. 2 such that a faller bar 12 engages progressively less and less tongues as it moves in a return direction. In an alternative embodiment the damper comprises a resilient tubular member 35A, Fig. 5, fixed over a region A and overhanging at B to give progressively more flexibility across the region B. The member 35A may have closed ends and may contain pressurized fluid, its thickness may also decrease in the return direction.
