Abstract

1,176,068. Traverse mechanisms. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 29 Aug.. 1968 [4 Sept., 1967], No. 40239/67. Heading D1J. The yarn guide 3 slides on the guide bar 1 and is reciprocated by being first engaged by member 8 or 8<SP>1</SP> on the band 6 and then by a member 7 or 7<SP>1</SP> on the band 5, the bands rotating, in the embodiment illustrated, in opposite directions. There may be resilient stops 4, 4<SP>1</SP> at the ends of the bar 1. In an alternative embodiment the bands 5. 6 are inclined towards each other and to the guide bar or may be arranged to move in the same direction, one band being mounted above and in the same vertical plane as the other band. In a further embodiment the driving members 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, 8, 81 are mounted on an endless band having portions moving parallel and in opposite directions to each other, which portions are caused to pass close to one another in the same plane.
