Abstract

685,453. Gill boxes. WARNER & SWASEY CO. July 20, 1949 [July 30, 1948].. No. 19091/49. Class 120 (i). The exit end of each saddle of a gill box has a bevelled surface 36 at such an angle that a faller bar corner held against it by the associated guide finger 26 moves in a direction that is the resultant of the horizontal motion imparted to the bar by the lead screw 12 and the vertical motion imparted thereto by the associated cam 15 shifting the bar from the lead screw to the return screw 11. The guide finger 26 which is spring influenced has a curved portion 40 which steadies the faller bar as it enters the return screws.
