Abstract

1371745 Electric incandescent lamp PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Feb 1973 [16 Feb 1972] 6975/73 Heading A halogen regenerative cycle electric incandescent lamp comprises a tungsten filament and a filling comprising phosphorus, an inert gas, bromine and hydrogen. The inert gas may be Ar, Kr, Ne or N 2 or mixtures thereof. The phosphorus may be introduced as WP 2 or P 3 N 5 while the bromine and hydrogen may be included as HBr. Optionally O 2 may be present. Using the fill gas above, the steps of annealing the tungsten filaments and firing the envelope to free them of oxygen and hydrogen may be omitted.
