Abstract
1370891 Hollow kerb drains BRICKHOUSE DUDLEY Ltd 22 Oct 1971 [21 Nov 1970] 55447/70 Heading E1G In a hollow kerb drain comprising a series of units 10 each having water inlet apertures 17, 18 in at least the upper part of its front wall 13, the front-wall apertures 18 at each end of the unit are open-ended (e.g. halfapertures) to cooperate with those of adjacent units. Each unit 10 may be of integrally cast iron and may, as shown, comprise a complete conduit having rear 11, top 12, front 13 and bottom 14 walls. In a modification, not illustrated, the bottom wall is omitted so that each kerb unit comprises an inverted channel which is mounted over a drainage channel. It is stated that a unit may be provided with a hinged lid forming the whole or part of the top wall and possibly the upper part of the front wall. Fig. 5 (not shown) illustrates juxtaposed units having different front to back dimensions for different water flows.
