Abstract

1370740 Electric timepieces BIVIATOR SA 12 Jan 1973 [2 Feb 1972] 1673/73 Heading G3T An electric timepiece comprises a flat spring 2 which is oscillated electrostatically and drives a stepping wheel 11 via a pallet lever 7, the pivotal motion of the latter being limited by stops 9. The lever 7 is pivoted at 8 and carries pins 6 which are engaged by the spring 2 with a small lost motion. The spring is clamped in an insulating block 1 on a clock or watch plate and the pins 6 are positioned at or close to a node of the spring. Electrodes 3, 4 are connected to a high voltage, low current battery 5, e.g. an isotope battery, and alternately repel the spring 2 as the spring becomes charged to the potential of the electrode which is contacted.
