Abstract

1452763 Electric battery lamps W S STONE 20 Sept 1973 [24 Oct 1972] 36858/75 Divided out of 1452762 Heading F4R [Also in Division H1] An electric battery and switch assembly (e.g. for an electric torch), comprises a support 10, two batteries 13, 15, with conducting cases and a further terminal at one end of each case, a flexible resilient conducting element shown as wire 50 permanently secured, as by welding for example, to one terminal, (e.g. post 66), and so mounted that when deformed the element makes contact with a terminal of opposite polarity of the other battery, and when released the element disengages. In the torch shown, the resilient element is deformed by pressure applied to elastic case 42. Fig. 9 includes a resilient wire with one bend rather than two, while the depth of the slot varies from point 94 where it is twice the thickness of the wire to a much shallower value at point 100. Further details of the torch are generally as in the parent Specification.
