Abstract

1370651 Ventilating W K HALL JNR 18 Oct 1971 48361/71 Heading F4V Rooms 84, 86 are supplied with conditioned air from a cooling unit 94 which supplies air to a first plenum chamber 90. Mixing devices 96, 98 are mounted in this plenum and supply a mixture of cold and warm air to the rooms 84, 86, the warm air being exhausted from the rooms through outlets 85, 87 into a chamber 88 and then to the mixing devices. Air from the rooms is also exhausted into a second plenum chamber 92 which is connected to the unit 94 by a conduit 93. The proportions of cold and. warm air supplied by the mixing devices 96, 98 are controlled by a damper which operates in response to a temperature sensor in the rooms. The damper comprises two sets 114, 116 of two perforated plates at right angles, each set comprising one fixed plate 122, 134, and a slidable plate 128, 139 attached to a movable rod 130, the perforations being arranged so that one inlet is completely closed when one is completely open. Each damper controls either the warm or the cold air inlet, the mixed air being delivered to the rooms by a fan (106) (not shown).
