Abstract

1370408 Forging presses GMF GES FUR FERTIGUNGSTECHNIK UND MASCHINENBAU AG 25 April 1973 [9 June 1972] 19539/73 Heading B3H A forging press with oppositely acting press rams 2 has each press ram driven by at least two eccentrics 7 mounted in sliding blocks 8 in a block 9 connected to the press ram by a threaded push rod 10 which can be rotated to adjust the ram stroke. The push rod 10 is axially slidable in a worm-wheel 12 which is driven in synchronism with the worm-wheel of the other ram to effect simultaneous adjustment. The eccentrics are coupled by gears (6), Fig. 1 (not shown), for rotation in opposite senses. A motor 13 for each press ram drives the gears 6 through a gearing 16 and a pair of clutches 14, (15). The gearings 16 associated with the press rams are synchronized by a connecting rod with a bevel gear at each end, Fig. 1 (not shown).
