Abstract
1370313 Luffing arm apparatus R O BILLINGS 6 Oct 1971 46546/71 Heading B8H [Also in Divisions E1 and F1] To permit of powered swivelling of an implement, e.g. a grab bucket or a lifting hook assembly, relative to a support there is provided a rotary-motor having a shaft 28 non- rotatably secured to the support and a easing 53 that can be caused to rotate about the shaft and having a driving connection with the implement which is rotatably supported on the shaft to which is rigidly secured a vane 58 extending radially right across the chamber to the casing which has a vane 62 similarly extending to the shaft. Ports 60, 61 in the vane 58 facilitate entry of pressurized fluid from ports 41, 42 as appropriate into the chamber. The vane 62 has flat portions 61<SP>1</SP> that allow of it to abut over largish areas with the vane 58. The driving connection is a lug 82 secured to the casing for entry into a socket on the implement which is retained on the shaft by a nut 67.
