[Also in Groups XXX, XXXI and XXXII] The wheels 2 of a power-operated shovel bulldozer, crane or tractor are attached to the body 10 of the machine by pivoted arms 12 (Fig. 10) interconnected by toothed sectors 28 so that the wheels may be retracted by hydraulic jacks 30 whereupon the machine is supported on the ground by an H-shaped platform rotatably mounted beneath the body 10. An internal-combustion engine 16 drives the wheels 2 through a transmission system (see Group XXXI) including differential braking for steering purposes and chain drives disposed within the arms 12 and also drives a pinion engaging a crown gear on the platform 3 for rotating the body 10. To an attachment point 25 on the body 10 is fitted a crane jib or a jib carrying a shovel (Figs. 2, 3) or a bulldozer blade (Fig. 4). In another construction (Figs. 5, 6, not shown) each pivoted arm is provided with a separate hydraulic jack and the arms on each side of the vehicle may be connected by hinges and levers.
