Abstract

1,135,474. Shovel excavators. MASSEY FERGUSON Inc. 4 April, 1966 [5 April, 1965], No. 14788/66. Heading E1F. The mounting of a motor 30, 31 having two working parts from within the arms 20, 22 of a bracket 18 supporting a material-handling implement-carrying boom 33 for rotation by the motor about a vertical axis is such that the motor can be removed without dismounting of the boom from the bracket. The casing 30 of the motor, a fluid-actuated, vane type motor, is bolted to the bracket and the drive shaft 31 of the motor is at the lower end coupled to the boom by a spline coupling 95 and at the upper end is axially located by a pin 81. Removal of the pin 81 allows of vertical movement of the motor, when the casing is unbolted from the bracket, so that the spline coupling can be disconnected and the motor withdrawn laterally from the bracket.
