Abstract
1369354 Piezo-electric generators MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 2 Feb 1972 [2 Feb 1971] 4916/72 Heading H2A In a piezo-electric igniter, pressure on a plate 14 straightens out a V-shaped toggle consisting of a hammer-pressing plate 11 and a support arm 12 pivoted together at 17 and connected to a casing 2 at the free end of arm 12, the free end of the plate 11 engaging a protrusion 7 on a hammer 5 as the toggle straightens so as to retract the hammer from a piezo-electric element 1 against a spring 6. During such movement, the plate 11 rides up sloping surfaces 9 on the casing and eventually disengages from the protrusion 7 whereupon the hammer strikes the element 1. Restoring springs 13, 15 are provided for the toggle and plate 14.
